Projects museum

A chronological record of things I built, shipped, and eventually left behind. Each one taught me something that carries forward into the work I do today.

  1. Fedora Core 3 Live CD

A Fedora Core 3-based Live CD built with Linux Live scripts by Tomas Matejicek (SLAX). A Fedora Core 4 version was planned but never materialized.

Early systems work and Linux community participation under the linuxjuggler identity.

    Open Source

  2. Arab Cart

An early PHP e-commerce application. Public enough to receive CVE records (CVE-2010-0724, CVE-2010-0725).

First real product shipped to the web — and hard lessons from security exposure in production.

    PHP Web Application

  3. Msrofi

Arabic personal finance tool co-founded with Hala Deeb under Creative Web Group. Covered by The Next Web. Reached ~1,000 members in about seven months.

First startup experience — Arabic SaaS, product building, and press coverage in the Arabic web ecosystem.

    Startup / SaaS

  4. Building Web Applications Using Parse REST API

Technical book on building a blog with Laravel 4 and Parse.com. Published on Leanpub, now retired.

Technical publishing and developer education — a precursor to the blog and years of writing.

    Leanpub Book

  5. Domain Book

Domain expiration monitoring. Started as an Electron desktop app (macOS/Windows, sold on AppSumo), then rebuilt as a SaaS. Featured WHOIS lookup, auto-import from registrars, expiration alerts, and notes/tags. Last release v1.13.0 in May 2022. Development discontinued.

Shipping the same product in two very different forms, desktop then SaaS, and learning when to close and move on.

    Desktop App then SaaS

The archive keeps growing.

Every project that doesn't ship still ships something, a lesson, a pattern, a scar. The current work lives on the blog.
